Scope and topics:
Recently years have witnessed an increasing amount of research activities in using ferroelectric materials for energy applications, such as mechanical energy harvesting, ferroelectric photovoltaic, capacitive energy storage, electrocaloric cooling, piezoelectric catalysis, and pyroelectric catalysis, etc. The purpose of this symposium is to provide a gathering platform for researchers active in this field to exchange their most up-to-date results and viewpoints in order to generate some synergies for the promotion of the development of this rapid growing field.
The topics of this symposium include but not limited to the followings:
1. Mechanical energy harvesting and conversion
2. Ferroelectric photovoltaic
3. Capacitive electric energy storage
4. Electrocaloric effect and pyroelectric thermal energy harvesting
5. Spontaneous polarization driven catalysis (piezo-catalysis and pyro-catalysis)
6. Development of materials processing techniques with higher performance
7. High-throughput computational techniques for the materials screening and prediction
8. Theoretical study on the fundamental mechanisms in various types of energy conversion and storage
